So, I just graduated with my MA in Museum Studies. Despite the fact that I have no art background, am a history major, and have only taken 1 intro art history course in my life, back in the fall of '96, everyone always asks if I will be working at a museum "Like the Nelson, right?"
Now I have my definitive answer: no.
Nelson Museum to cut 20 to 25 jobs this month
And the follow up from KCUR: Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art Clarifies Cuts
This is what intrigues me, from the KC Star: "He does envision some new jobs emerging from the restructuring, possibly an audience development person."
So. . .does anyone know what an audience development person DOES? And how does one become one?
